Regular meetings are held monthly on a Saturday afternoon in the Conference Room. A short business meeting is usually conducted beginning at 1:30 p.m. and is followed by the scheduled educational program and socializing, ending by about 3:30 p.m. The meeting schedule and program titles can be found on the “Events” tab.

Our September meeting will feature John Mears giving a presentation about researching German ancestors using Artificial Intelligence as a tool. Join us in Event Hall A at the Parker Library on Saturday, September 12th at 2:00 p.m<\/strong>. to learn about how this latest technology can help us advance our genealogical research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 250 America Celebration at the Pollywog Station Lavender Farm on Hilltop Road in July was a smashing success! The Parker Genealogical Society offered “Find Your Roots mini sessions” and shared the research we had done on the William H. Reynolds family that homesteaded on the property in the 1880’s. Here’s a photo of our table at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At our May meeting, member Ron Springsteen shared the story about his cousin, Gordon Springsteen, in his presentation “Gone But Not Forgotten”. He talked about the “Forever Promise Project” through which the graves of American WWII soldiers who died in the Netherlands are lovingly cared for by the families who live there. Recent Events…<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Did you catch the Sons of the American Revolution at Parker Days? They gave a wonderful program about the role of fifers and drummers in the American Revolutionary War. Our April program featured them as well. when they gave a presentation entitled “Hands On History: America 250 Years Ago”. We learned about the grievances which led to the Bill of Rights and about the tensions in communities and families over taking sides, Loyalist or Patriot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new Secretary and a new Treasurer were elected to the Board in March 2026. Welcome Carole Taylor and Ron Springsteen! And a big thank you for stepping up to serve our society!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first quarter of 2026, members of our group performed genealogical research on the William H. Reynolds family who homesteaded in Parker in the 1880’s. This was a special project that we were invited to participate in. It was a pleasure to provide the current owner of the homestead with information about the family that lived there over 100 years ago!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
